Volunteer Opportunities with Help A Mother Out
Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3
Help a Mother Out (HAMO) and SF HSA are hosting a diaper giveaway event in the Bayview. CalWORKs & CalFresh families residing in 94124 can receive up to 2 cases of diapers per eligible child at this drive thru and walk up event.
Volunteers are needed to assist with moving the cases of diapers from storage to the giveaway tables and to check in recipients. (Ability to lift and move cases required for all shifts. Masks and social distance required.) Children over the age of 11 are welcome, but they must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Please be advised that this event is partially a drive through, so there will be moving cars at certain points.

Shifts available:
Friday October 2nd, 4p-6p - Diaper Unloader - Assist with unloading the diaper delivery. Cases will be removed from pallets and stored in the Rec Center.
Saturday October 3rd, 9a-11:30a - Set-up Help/ Diaper Runner - Assist with any set-up help needed and assist with moving diaper cases from storage area to tabling area and cars. (Will involve lifting and moving diaper cases. Position will be standing and walking.)
Saturday October 3rd, 9a-11:30a - Set-up Help/ Walk-up Registration Table Lead - Assist with management of the registration table; checking in recipients and handing out diapers. (Volunteer may be seated to carry out this duty.)
Saturday October 3rd, 10a- 12p - Walk-up Registration Table - Assist with checking in recipients and handing out diapers. (Volunteer may be seated to carry out this duty.)
Saturday October 3rd, 10a-1p - Directional and Traffic Flow Assistance/ Diaper Runner - Assist with directional and traffic flow, which may involve directing recipients waiting in their cars, being stationed at a specific location to re-direct recipients, etc. Additional diaper runner duties may be added. (This position will involve walking, lifting diaper cases and standing.)
Saturday October 3rd, 11:30a -1:30p - Breakdown Help/ Diaper Runner - Assist with clean up (as needed) and assist with moving diaper cases from storage area to tabling area and cars. (Will involve lifting and moving diaper cases. Position will be standing and walking.)
